Instructions for setting up email in Outlook Express

 

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Go to Tools menu and select Accounts
  3. A new dialog box should appear, select the Mail tab as shown below

 

 

  1. Click on the Add button and select Mail…
  2. Enter your name as you want others to see it in the dialog box as shown below

 

 

  1. Click Next
  2. Enter your @rapidwave.net email address in the dialog box as shown below

 

 

  1. Click Next

 

  1. Enter in mail.rapidwave.net in both entries in the dialog box as shown below

 

 

  1. Click Next

 

  1. Enter in your account name and password that was given you as shown below

 

 

  1. Click Next
  2. Click Finish
  3. You should have a dialog box that looks like this below

 

 

  1. Select the mail.rapidwave.net account and click Properties

 

  1. Click on the Servers tab in the dialog box shown below

 

 

  1. Click on the check box near the bottom that says “My server requires auth…”
  2. Click Apply
  3. Click Ok
  4. Click Close

 

You are now set up to send and receive from your Rapidwave mailbox using Outlook Express. Mail that you receive with Outlook Express will be removed from our server and stored on your personal computer. Be sure to back up your Outlook Express personal folder in case disaster strikes your machine or you might be at risk to lose your email!
